What is a root canal?
A root canal (also called endodontic treatment) is the cleaning out
of the nerve of a tooth and replacing it with a material that seals
the inside of the root so infection cannot get back in .
Endodontic therapy may be necessary to save your natural tooth if
the pulp tissue is irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated
with decay, very deep fillings, tooth fracture or trauma, or
periodontal disease.
